one thing you never see discussed in defence of imperial measurements is that
the pint is the absolutely perfect size for a beer.
We have bottles in the 340-375ml range, and in 750ml.
We have 7's, midi's and schooners - with countless regional variations.
But they are all to small for a meal, and a in the case of the long necks, that little bit too big.
Only a pint gives a beer that will see you through a meal, running out with a satisfying emptiness just as you finish your plate.
