In the Navy, we had to demonstrate the 'Practical Factors' of the rate and have the recommendations of our leaders, to even qualify for the fleet-wide examinations for advancement. Oftentimes, one might meet every test and still not be 'Rated'. We had to pay our dues.
In the Army, nobody accepted your word that you were a good rifle marksman or that you knew how to pack a chute, or set up a Claymore. You had to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform the duties of the position. You had to complete the necessary training, and 'Qualify' for the grade or position you sought.
You had to pay your dues.
In the Civil service, you had to have the requisite qualifications, experience and time in grade to be considered for a
promotion, and you had to prove it. You had to pay your dues.
Nobody in any of those situations was granted full authority and responsibility for anything with 143 days of experience, during which you accomplished exactly . . . nothing. No Second Lieutenant is given a Platoon with only
143 days in the Army and no demonstrated capacity. No Ensign is given a ship, no pilot a plane. You don't even make Corporal in 143 days.
But now comes this Pretender, with just such a resume, claiming to lead the most powerful organization on earth.
And claiming it as a 'Right'. In the armed services, you haven't even finished Boot Camp in 143 days, much less made Admiral! In the Civil service, you'd be laughed out of the place, making such a bold claim.
But America is ready to hand the keys to the gun locker to just such a one, and one who has long associations with
her declared enemies . . .
In the Infantry, once you get some experience under your belt, your gut instinct tells you when the day is going to turn to shit, or the operation is falling apart before it ever gets off the ground. Your instincts scream, "No! Don't do this!" This is one of those days.
There was another famous speaker, who had the audacity to hope; who presented himself for election with no discernible qualification but charisma . . . and his name was Adolf Hitler. He promised 'Change' and he brought change, all right. God help this country and her people!
